Clouds

Do you ever look up at the clouds in the sky and use your imagination to try and make funny shapes. I often look up and see dinosaurs or faces of family and friends. Often I watch the clouds move and think they’re having a race. Have you ever thought about where a cloud comes from?
Although a cloud looks fluffy, soft and dry it is really made of water. A cloud is made of very tiny drops of water. It is so cold up in the sky that these very small drops of water turn into tiny bits of ice, if you get many little bits of ice together what we see from the ground are clouds. Sometimes clouds aren’t even white. This isn’t because the water drops have changed color. Clouds sometimes appear a different color because there isn’t a lot of water drops and the cloud is very thin. When something is very thin you can almost see through it, you will then see all the light around it making it seem a different color.
Next time you look up at the sky see how many shapes you can make from each cloud.
